Bobcat Company Hosting Five Manufacturing Day Events

In yesterday's blog, we gave you a hint about who we'd be featuring today. The answer: Bobcat Company. Did you guess correctly?

Bobcat Company is a leading provider of compact equipment for global construction, rental, landscaping, agriculture, grounds maintenance, government, utility, industrial and mining markets.  They are holding events in 5 of their facilities to celebrate Manufacturing Day.

Gwinner Facility

Their Gwinner facility will host 2 events.  The first, on Friday, October 2nd from 9:30am to 1:45pm, is for sophomore to senior high school students from North Sargent High School and the second is Wednesday, October 28th at 2:45pm for Lisbon High School technology students.  The tours will highlight modern manufacturing technology.  In addition, they will facilitate a career discussion with a panel of employees from different areas of the plant, such as welding, manufacturing engineering, and paint department, and field questions and answers.  Finally, they will provide information on student employment opportunities.

Wahpeton Facility

Their Wahpeton facility is part of a community tour of manufacturers by local high schools on October 14th from 8:45am to 2:35pm.

Bismarck Facilities

They have 2 participating facilities in Bismarck.  Each location is holding an event.  At the Factory location, they will provide tours for students from the Mandan and Bismarck High Schools and the Bismarck State College and United Tribes Technical College on October 2nd.  The tours will include a history of Bobcat, a plant tour with some hands on experiences, and a question and answer session.

The other Bismarck facility, the Acceleration Center, will also hold an event on October 2nd.  They will host 2 groups of college students and exhibit and demonstrate how manufacturing and design engineering are changing, a presentation of Design for Manufacturing, examples of practical manufacturing technology, and what’s new, what’s coming in the future, and what’s exciting!

Litchfield Facility

The last facility is in Litchfield, MN.  They are hosting high school juniors from the Litchfield High School on October 23rd for factory tours as part of a Career Day activity.

Now, that’s commitment to the future generation and their industry.

We’ll be focusing on another type of community event tomorrow.
