Lean Six Sigma — Help your organization reach its overall objectives with Lean Six Sigma Methodology!

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is ideal for companies that need to increase customer satisfaction and decrease operating costs. Six Sigma is a problem solving methodology that uses statistical tools and techniques to greatly reduce the frequency of defects and errors within products and services by identifying, analyzing and eliminating variation within production, business administration and customer services processes. The goal of Lean Six Sigma is to eliminate waste and streamline processes, leading to greater efficiencies and better customer satisfaction using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) methodology.

What is a Six Sigma White Belt?

What is a Six Sigma Yellow Belt?
The Six Sigma White Belt is the foundation of Six Sigma methodology, providing a basic understanding of how it’s used for process improvement and reducing waste. White Belts play a crucial role in projects by supporting organizational change management and involving themselves in local problem-solving groups that support projects. White Belt understands the basics of Lean principles, which focus on eliminating waste and improving process flow, combined with the Six Sigma principles of reducing process variability and improving quality. White Belt certification focuses on establishing a solid understanding of Six Sigma principles, it does not delve into the intricate statistical analyses and project management skills required at higher belt levels.             A Yellow Belt typically has a basic knowledge of Six Sigma, but does not lead projects on their own. They are often responsible for the development of process maps to support Six Sigma implementation. A Yellow Belt participates as a core team member or subject matter expert (SME) on a project or projects. In addition, Yellow Belts may often be responsible for running smaller process improvement projects using the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) methodology. PDCA, often referred to as the Deming Wheel, enables Yellow Belts to identify processes that could benefit from improvement. These smaller Yellow Belt projects often get escalated to the Green Belt or Black Belt level where a DMAIC methodology is used to maximize cost savings using Statistical Process Control.
