Quick and Easy Kaizen: Not Just Another Suggestion System

06/07/2011 7:45 AM - 12:00 PM Central
Clear Lake, SD

AME Workshop • Hosted by DJO Global, Clear Lake, SD

Imagine a world in which every one of your employees was making improvements to their job or work area every day. Imagine saving 1.7M steps, over 8,000 work hours, $147,000 in materials and reducing paper usage by almost 17,000 sheets in less than two years.

DJO Global has done all that ane more through the Quick and Easy Kaizen program introduced to them in 2009 by Mark Volesky of Dakota MEP.

Quick and Easy Kaizen is a continuous improvement tool that gets everyone involved. DJO Global required every employee to implement at least one QEK each month (or a total of 12 per year). Implement is the key word. The supervisor is the only approval needed so it happens quickly and the employee is responsible to implement the idea. It can be anything from 5S improvements to process changes. DJO Global has 180 employees. In 2010, they had over 2,100 QEK ideas implemented.

The workshop will be presented by Mark Volesky, Senior Business Advisor with Dakota MEP. Kristin Munro, Quality Systems Manager, of Mid-America Aviation will also be presenting.
