Basic Skills for Supervisors

Session Description:
Many times people become promoted to a supervisory role without having the five basic needs to become an effective supervisor. In this four hour abbreviated version of the Training Within Industry (30) hour program participants will learn the five basics needs to succeed in a supervisory role and how the tools that support these needs apply.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover the five basic needs of supervisors
  • Learn the Job Instruction Four Step Method, how to breakdown a process for training and how to create a training plan.
  • Become familiar with the Job Relations Four Step Method, how to build effective working relationships and how to identify problems early on while they are small and easier to deal with.
  • Become familiar with the Job Methods Four Step Method to solve process problems.
  • Learn how all of the above work together to help make the supervisor more effective.
